Welcome to a nice, warming world…
There is a cute newbee in the family. Yep, Oscar and Leon –the two cuties from my sister and Bram- got a new little brother to begin the New Year with. Frans is too amazing for words, so small and vulnerable that is becomes breathtaking.
And so confident. He sleeps. Drinks. Sleeps. Eats. Sleeps. Never doubting one moment that the next moment will come. The trust of the innocent. When did we lose that again?
Welcome to the World, Frans. Things are, eh, different here.
When you will be able to read this, the world will be a nice, slightly warmer place…
Leon, 1 and counting…
He made it. After 364 days of intense work, training and carefully planned progress, Leon –my youngest nephew- finally made it to his first birthday. And trust me; he celebrated this important milestone in style. Enough food to nourish a complete Botswana village (pancake, anyone?
). Two sets of grandparents hovering around, beaming with pride. Dad Bram and mom Janny, trying to keep up with an industrial demand on coffee, liquor and an impressive stack of bottles.
Leon simply loved it. He is currently working on a business plan to reach the next milestone: a challenging one. 2 become 2 in 364 days. He is an upcoming star, and he knows it!

I’m 2 and I want 2 travel 2.
Meet Oscar, my Godchild. He’s 2,5. Clever. Charming. Irresistible. He will change the world as we know it, but give him some time. Growing up is a serious thing.
My favourite pastime is to talk to him while I travel. We have hilarious conversations. Him listening @ his mom’s mobile phone, not uttering a word. Me, describing the tribes of the World to him. The people. The buildings. The food. The weather. Then he says “hihi”, very seriously. And passes the technology back to the parental authorities.
I bring him a bear from each city. I visit lots of cities, he collects lots of bears.
My last visit, (to Copenhagen, www.blincblog.com) intrigued him. So he has taken a decision. One of his very first. He wants to travel, and see places with me. Alea Iacta Est. Something tells me he will not regret it….
