I am not really a religious person. I am a bit too inquisitive to respond well to tales of snakes and apples, ribs and gardens of Eden. Add to that bearded people turning water into wine, or happily strolling the waves and my logic screams for mercy. Just reading the historic tales of most religions makes me nauseous.
But still, when I am all alone with my trusted telescope, browsing star fields and nebulae, something of awe comes over me. What if. There must be. Something.
I liked Little Gods. I think that Gods should be good, and the better they get, the more we believe in them. Instant gratification. You get power from my believe that you are good to/for me. If nobody believes, no power left, doomsday for a failed god.
Marx and Nietzsche would have loved it: religion based on direct return on investment.
